Cal State Northridge 79, Idaho State 77--The Matadors (14-6, 6-3 in the Big Sky) blew a 13-point lead in the second half but regained the lead in the final minute and held on to increase its record at home to 9-0.
Northridge led the entire first half and was ahead, 61-48, with 10 minutes to play. But Idaho State (6-14, 1-8) managed to take the lead at 71-70 on Tim Erickson’s layup with 3:38 left. The Matadors trailed 75-73 with 2:42 left but scored the next six points, four by Marco McCain.
Center Brian Heinle led Northridge with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Kevin Sweetwyne had 31 points for Idaho State.
The Matadors had defeated the Bengals, 101-86, last month at Pocatello, Idaho.
