Mayor Ingrid McGuire plans to give her support for the preservation of the Dolph House and an elementary school project at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

McGuire wants to donate her share of a $15,000 fund set aside in the city’s budget for council members to use for nonprofit organizations or events that benefit the community.

McGuire is setting aside half of her $3,000 allotment for the Dolph House, the city’s first residence, located within the future site of the Capistrano by the Sea development.

The mayor is also pledging $1,500 to Richard Henry Dana Elementary School for its “Splash the Whale Program,” which centers around a large whale fossil that the grade school owns.

The council meets at 6:30 p.m. in chambers at 33282 Street of the Golden Lantern.
