Fullerton Falls to North Texas
Cal State Fullerton stayed close for most of the first half, but North Texas shot 60% from the field in the second half and pulled away to win, 91-58, in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game Sunday in Denton, Texas.
Ashley Norris scored 21 points for North Texas (14-9, 5-5 in conference), which scored 46 points off of turnovers and had five players score in double figures.
Kandace Hunter scored 12 points and Erin Whiteside had 10 points and 13 rebounds for Fullerton (2-21, 1-10), which led, 17-14, midway through the first half.
The Titans committed 32 turnovers and shot 32% from the field, including 11 of 39 (28%) in the second half.
In the Hawaii Pacific softball tournament:
Concordia loses twice--Jennifer Miklos had three hits in a 3-0 loss to Hawaii-Hilo and Melissa Naylon had two hits for Concordia in a 1-0 loss to Hawaii Pacific. The Eagles (2-3) conclude the tournament today.
