An 18-year-old Palmdale woman has been found shot to death in her car at a park-and-ride lot next to the Antelope Valley Freeway, authorities said.

The body of Michelle O’Keefe was found about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the driver’s seat at the lot in the 100 block of East Avenue South, Deputy Margarita Velazquez of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Unit said.

Investigators found the body after responding to an anonymous call of an assault at the lot, Velazquez said.

O’Keefe had been shot in the upper body several times, Velazquez said.

“The victim and a friend had returned to the park-and-ride lot to pick up the victim’s car after attending a music video shoot at the Grand Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles,” Velazquez said. The friend drove off in a separate vehicle, authorities said.

“This case is very mysterious. We have very few leads on why someone would kill this girl,” Valazquez said.

Anyone with information on the shooting has been asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (323) 890-5500.
