Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships--Brandi Prieto of Cal State Northridge became the first woman to win four conference championships in the same event with a meet record leap of 42-feet, 7 inches in the triple jump at Northern Arizona.

Prieto’s mark provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 10-11 at Fayetteville, Ark. She also won the 55-meter hurdles in 7.95 seconds.

Northridge’s Anetta Wells was selected female athlete of the meet after winning the 200 meters in 24.32 and the 400 meters in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 54.67. Teammate Jennifer Capehart set a meet record in the pole vault with an NCAA provisional mark of 11-11 3/4.

Nancy James, Northridge’s three-time defending conference champion at 800 meters and the defending conference mile champion, dropped out of the mile and did not compete in the 800.

The Matadors finished third in the women’s team competition with 94.5 points, behind Northern Arizona (137.5) and Weber State (112).

Northridge’s Clinte Motley won the men’s triple jump at 52-9 1/2, also an NCAA provisional qualifier.
