Reserve Lynda Amari had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Cal State Northridge in a 57-49 Big Sky Conference women’s basketball victory over Northern Arizona on Thursday night at Flagstaff, Ariz.

Northridge (7-4, 1-0 in conference play) led, 31-18, at halftime, but the Lumberjacks (4-9, 0-1) narrowed the margin to 41-36 with 6:55 remaining.

Lindsey Foster scored 16 points for Northern Arizona, including four three-point baskets.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Ventura 69, San Marcos 46--Alex Gientke scored seven points in each of the first three quarters on her way to 24 points for the Cougars in a Channel League opener at San Marcos.

Kristine Gleisburg had 16 points and six blocked shots for Ventura (13-0), the No. 1-ranked team in the region by The Times.

Buena 62, Rio Mesa 34--Kelly Greathouse scored 14 of her 22 points in the first half and the No. 2-ranked Bulldogs (11-4) won a nonleague game at Rio Mesa.

Littlerock 52, Quartz Hill 49--Jolene Haywood hit a three-point basket with three seconds remaining to lift the Lobos in a Golden League game at Quartz Hill.

Littlerock (12-4, 1-0) had a 12-point third-quarter lead, but Quartz Hill (10-5, 0-1) tied the game, 49-49, on a five-foot jumper by Lannette Richardson with 30 seconds left.

Haywood finished with 14 points and Rashawna Mays had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Littlerock.

Richardson finished with 14 points for Quartz Hill.

Alemany 75, Notre Dame 44--Karina Siam scored eight of Alemany’s first 20 points and the Indians won a Mission League game at Notre Dame.

Siam had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Kate Beckler scored 23 points for Alemany (12-3, 1-0).

Sierra Hauser-Price had 23 points for Notre Dame (10-5, 1-1).

El Camino Real 58, Birmingham 44--Cherhara Shields had 18 points and nine rebounds to help the Conquistadores (8-6) win a Reseda tournament semifinal game.

Montclair Prep 60, Pacific Christian 29--Eshaya Murphy scored 20 of her 34 points in the first half for the Mounties, her third consecutive game of 30 or more.

Murphy also had 18 rebounds and 10 steals for Montclair Prep (12-2), which has won 10 consecutive games.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Montclair Prep 115, Pacific Christian 11--Josiah Johnson scored 18 of his 28 points in the first quarter for the host Mounties in the nonleague game.

Johnson played only 17 minutes for Montclair Prep (10-5), which made 53 of 74 shots (71.6%).

BOYS’ SOCCER

Ventura 0, San Marcos 0--Justin Carter recorded his ninth shutout of the season for the Cougars in a Channel League opener at Ventura.

Jared Potts of Ventura (13-1-3), ranked No. 1 in the region by The Times, had a breakaway midway through the second half, but goalie Nathan Pugh of San Marcos (11-2-2) blocked the shot.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Ventura 1, San Marcos 0--Jyene Mack scored on a penalty kick in the second half for the No. 7 Cougars (11-4-1) in a Channel League opener at San Marcos.
