Public Urged to Help Identify Stabbing Victim

COMPTON — Investigators released a drawing Friday of a petite woman whose stabbed body was stuffed into a blue duffel bag found by a transient earlier his week.
The woman in the drawing was a Latina who had been stabbed several times, said Compton Police Capt. Danny Sneed. She was described as 35 to 45 years old, 4-foot-9 and 103 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
The bag was found near Central Avenue and Brazil Street in Compton on Tuesday afternoon.
“We have been unable to identify her through fingerprints or missing persons reports, and we are asking the public’s assistance,” Sneed said.
Investigators believe the crime occurred outside Compton and that the body was dumped, said city spokesman Frank Wheaton.
“We are still tremendously concerned, because we not only want to identify the victim, but we also want to identify the criminal who perpetrated this crime,” Wheaton said.
Anyone with information is urged to call police at (310) 605-6565.
