Bill Muckalt scored early in the third period Monday night to rally the New York Islanders to a 2-2 tie with the Phoenix Coyotes at Uniondale, N.Y.
Muckalt skated down right wing and cut across the slot. His back-hander was stopped, but the rebound came right back to Muckalt, who scored his eighth goal at 5:59.
Sean Burke started his second consecutive game in goal for Phoenix after missing 16 because of a torn thumb ligament. He stopped two point-blank attempts with 4:30 left in regulation to preserve the draw.
