DUCKS REPORT
THIS WEEK
WEDNESDAY VS. OTTAWA
* Starting time: 7:30 p.m.
* Television: FSW 2
* Radio: KDIS (710 AM)
* Key: The Ducks have only one goal in their last 31 power-play chances.
* This season: Ottawa won the Nov. 13 meeting, 4-2.
* About Ottawa: Does the name Alexei Yashin ring a bell? The Senators certainly haven’t missed their star center. Radek Bonk has filled in nicely with a team-high 32 points.
FRIDAY VS. ST. LOUIS
* Starting time: 7:30 p.m.
* Television: FSW 2
* Radio: XTRA (690 AM)
* Key: Beating goalie Roman Turek will be a chore.
* Last season: St. Louis went 2-1-1 in the four games.
* About St. Louis: The Blues are hot, going 4-0-2 in their last six games. Pierre Turgeon has 21 goals and 53 points.
SATURDAY AT PHOENIX
* Starting time: 6 p.m.
* Television: None
* Radio: XTRA (690 AM)
* Key: Maybe a Stu Grimson goal will decide it. Stranger things have happened.
* This season: The Coyotes have won two of three games and have outscored the Ducks, 8-2.
* About Phoenix: The Coyotes lead the Pacific Division, despite going 4-7-2 in the last 13 games. Center Jeremy Roenick has 21 goals and leads the league with eight game-winners.
MONDAY VS. BUFFALO
* Starting time: 7:30 p.m.
* Television: Channel 9
* Radio: XTRA (690 AM)
* Key: These teams have the two worst power plays in the NHL. So a power-play goal will probably win it.
* Last season: The teams split two games.
* About Buffalo: The Sabres, Stanley Cup finalists last season, have meandered much like the Ducks this season--only with a better excuse. Goalie Dominik Hasek, five-time Vezina Trophy winner, has missed 31 games.
