Business has been so brisk at Dark Delicacies in Burbank that owners Sue and Del Howison have moved their operations to a new, larger 2,000-sqare-foot store at 4213 W. Burbank Blvd. Their old space on Magnolia Boulevard measured about 1,300 square feet.

The Howisons, who opened their first store in 1994, lay claim to being America’s only all-horror book and gift store. For nonlocals, the store also offers a toll-free phone number, 888-DARKDEL [327-5335]. Store hours: Saturday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; Tuesday-Friday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. (818) 556-6660.

USC writing instructor Richard Krevolin (“Screenwriting From the Soul”) and playwright-television writer Susan Stewart Potter (“Joan of Arc,” “Proving Heaven”) will be the guest speakers at the Saturday 10 a.m. meeting of the Alameda Writers Group in Burbank.

The group was originally founded in 1991 at the NBC Burbank studios to serve the needs of professional and amateur writers living or working in the Burbank Media District.
