Forty-five firefighters responded to a two-alarm house fire in Laguna Hills on Saturday evening and had the blaze under control within a half-hour, authorities said.

The fire, which began about 6 p.m., caused heavy smoke damage to a large house in the 26100 block of Red Corral Road, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Paul Hunter.

The family was home when the fire began, but no injuries were reported. Officials are investigating the cause of the blaze and the extent of the damage, Hunter said. --SEEMA MEHTA
