3rd Quake Rattles Sonoma County
The third moderate quake in eight days struck an area of Sonoma County near seismically active geysers Tuesday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The magnitude 4.2 temblor at 3:26 p.m. was centered seven miles southeast of Cloverdale. No damage or injuries were reported. The area is about 75 miles north of San Francisco.
Two 4.3 quakes were recorded a mile away on Jan. 10 and 11, and more than 100 smaller quakes have been felt in the vicinity since the sequence began.
