Former Davis Cup doubles player Jim Pugh headlines a field of eight professionals in this weekend’s Paramount Pro-Am Classic at Newport Beach Tennis Club.

Laguna Beach’s Rick Leach was supposed to be in the tournament, but he and Ellis Ferreira played in the Australian Open doubles final Friday. Other professionals in the field are Scott Davis, David Pate, Grant Connell and Dane Visser. The tournament, which will donate proceeds to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, begins this morning. The finals will be Sunday at noon.
