Rodarte, Fox Put on a Show

Daniel Rodarte and David Fox combined on a seven-inning three-hitter and Chris Dickerson drove in three runs to help Van Nuys Show Ball to a 10-0 victory over Calabasas on Wednesday in a District 20 first-round game at Birmingham High that was called because of the 10-run rule.

Dickerson had a two-run home run and a run-scoring single for Show Ball (21-1), which is made up of players from Notre Dame, Grant and Crespi highs.

Rodarte allowed two hits in six innings with two strikeouts and five walks. Fox struck out two without allowing a walk.

Calabasas is 13-9.

In other District 20 first-round games:

Studio City Sylmar 15, Van Nuys Birmingham 5--Larry Anguino had four hits and four runs batted in, including two triples for Studio City Sylmar (14-8) at Valley College in a game called after eight innings because of the 10-run rule.

Valley Chatsworth 14, Antelope Valley 8--John Selman had two hits and three RBIs for Valley Chatsworth (18-4) at Valley College.

Jorge Flores had four hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs for Antelope Valley (13-8).

Ventura and Agoura begin a best-of-three District 16 series at 4:30 p.m. today at Ventura College.
