Two alleged gang members were arrested after shots were fired at a busy intersection Monday in Santa Ana, police said Tuesday.

No one was seriously injured, but three people were taken to local hospitals after the scuffle led to gunfire outside the Cafe Cat Bui Vietnamese Restaurant in the 100 block of South Harbor Boulevard, Santa Ana Police Sgt. Raul Luna said.

Luna said investigators had received conflicting information, but early reports indicated that about 12 people were involved in an altercation at about 5:30 p.m. Shots were fired, shattering some restaurant windows. As a car drove away, a passenger fired at people in front of the restaurant.

One man who was wounded in the gunfire apparently dropped his gun in the parking lot. Luna said 15 to 20 rounds were fired.

Thanh Nguyen, 32, of Garden Grove and Thanh Thuc Luong, 23, of Westminster were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Nguyen was being held at the Santa Ana Detention Facility, while Luong, who suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his head, was being held in the jail ward at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana.

Another man was shot multiple times and a third was cut by flying glass. Their wounds were not considered life-threatening.
