CART Race Postponed, on TV Today
A day-long drizzle caused the CART Miller Lite 225 at West Allis, Wis., to be postponed until today, which turns out to be a plus for television viewers in Los Angeles.
ABC’s live coverage would have been preempted Sunday by a Children’s Miracle Network telethon on Channel 7, which planned to show the auto race at 12:30 a.m.
Weather permitting, the race today will be televised live on ESPN2 at 8 a.m. PDT. ABC announcers Paul Page and Parker Johnstone will still call the action.
The 23-car lineup will remain the same, with defending series champion Juan Montoya on the pole and Dario Franchitti alongside.
