Chamique Holdsclaw credited some advice from four-time Olympian Teresa Edwards for the game-winning shot against the New York Liberty.

Holdsclaw scored 23 points and made a jump shot with 10.8 seconds left as the Washington Mystics defeated the New York Liberty, 57-56, Tuesday night at New York.

“It was a blessing,” Holdsclaw said. “I tried to break wide instead of attacking the basket. It was something Teresa taught me. She said, ‘When you go off the screen, don’t always go at the basket. Bring it wide to create some space.’ ”
