He’s Still Revved Up About Indy Coverage

Motor sports in general and the Indianapolis 500 were never at the top of my interest list on the sports page. I liked Jim Murray’s critique of the event with comments like, “Gentlemen, start your coffins.” Or “Attending the Indianapolis 500 is sorta like buying a ticket to a train wreck.” In spite of the above I found myself reading an absorbing account of the race by your writer Shav Glick. Shav can make an event, in which I have little or no interest, into an enjoyable interesting column through the sheer excellence of his writing. He is the ultimate craftsman and the consummate wordsmith and could make a tractor pull exciting.
