Christian, Jewish and Muslim leaders from Orange County are organizing an interfaith tour of more than 70 people to visit Israel and Jordan next year.

The trip, scheduled from Feb. 28 to March 14, will be the second interfaith pilgrimage sponsored by the National Conference for Community and Justice of Newport Beach. Leaders will be Rabbi Allen Krause of Temple Beth El in Aliso Viejo; the Rev. Kenneth McCullen of Laguna Niguel Presbyterian Church; and Haitham Bundakji, vice chairman of the Islamic Society of Orange County, who helped lead NCCJ’s inaugural interfaith trip in spring of 1999.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to see, share and experience this incredible part of the world with people from each of the major faith traditions who have their roots there,” said Tom Thorkelson, president of NCCJ.
