* Brahms--The Santa Clarita Master Chorale will perform Brahms’ “Requiem” this weekend at Valencia United Methodist Church, 25718 McBean Parkway, Valencia. Show times: Friday-Saturday, 8 p.m. $10-$15. (661) 254-8886.

* Big Band--Emmy-winning saxophonist, pianist and composer Gordon Goodwin will bring his Big Phat Band to the Performing Arts Center at Cal State Northridge on Saturday at 8 p.m. The Big Phat Band, featuring some of the top names in the Los Angeles music scene, including Eric Marienthal, Bob Summers, Andy Martin and Carl Verheyen, will perform Goodwin’s contemporary jazz compositions. A CSUN graduate, Goodwin has worked with such artists as Patti Austin, Mel Torme, Barry Manilow, Sarah Vaughan and Ray Charles. He won two Emmys for his work on the “Steven Spielberg Presents Animaniacs” television cartoon series. Also performing will be CSUN’s Jazz A Band. The campus is at 18111 Nordhoff St. $5-$10. * Dinosaurs--The “Dinosaurs in the Desert” exhibit opens Saturday and runs through May 7 at the Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery. The exhibit features life-size, scientifically accurate replicas of dinosaurs and Ice Age mammals. The museum is at 44801 N. Sierra Highway. * Celtic--The Palmdale Playhouse will provide an excuse to start celebrating St. Patrick’s Day a bit early when the Men of Worth perform Saturday at 8 p.m. Scotsman Donnie MacDonald and Irishman Jimmy Keigher will sing Celtic folk songs.
