SAN DIEGO —
Masked gunmen burst into the home of a prominent Mexican executive in an upscale community south of San Diego, shot his adult son and set fire to the house after demanding $80,000, authorities said Monday.
The 20-year-old son, Rigoberto Teran Morfin Jr., was hospitalized in critical but stable condition, a spokesman for the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
His father, Rigoberto Morfin Arvizo, is a factory owner and former president of an industrial association in Tijuana.
