Robitaille’s Secret: Just Keep Firing Shots

Share

When you have scored 551 goals, you don’t worry about when the next one is coming.

“As long as I’m getting the shots, I know I’ll score,” Luc Robitaille said Friday, a day after he had broken a nine-game drought with a power-play goal at Philadelphia in the third period.

“It’s when I don’t get scoring chances that I worry.”

Robitaille had 31 shots during the games he was held scoreless. And he let others worry for him.

“When Lucky isn’t scoring, there’s more pressure on him because everybody expects him to score,” said Jozef Stumpel, who had two goals, including the game-winner, at Philadelphia.

More important to Robitaille were that he scored on the power play, which the Kings had been struggling with lately, and that it helped break a four-game winless streak.
