Former Bruins Leave Their Mark

Share

Former Boston Bruins figured prominently in the Kings’ 4-4 tie on Saturday, with Glen Murray, who spent four seasons in Boston, scoring two goals; and Jozef Stumpel, who was in Boston for six seasons, earning two assists.

Stumpel fed Murray for the game-tying goal with 21 seconds to play.

Bob Corkum, who also had a goal, is not a former Bruin, but some here say he should be with them now. He is from suburban Boston and still lives here in the off-season.

Luc Robitaille scored in the opening period on a shot that deflected off the skate of Kyle McLaren. It was Robitaille’s 35th goal of the season and his second in as many games after a nine-game drought.

He also had an assist on Murray’s power-play goal to open the third period, and has 69 points.

Though he was pulled in favor of Jamie Storr to open the third period, Stephane Fiset will start tonight at Atlanta.

Fiset faced 17 shots in the opening period and had 16 saves, then was touched for three goals in the second, one coming from Brian Rolston that scored off Fiset’s right skate.
