Todd, Nesby ‘Status Quo’

Share

Everything seemed back to normal for the Clippers at their practice Wednesday, a day after forward Tyrone Nesby and interim Coach Jim Todd had words during halftime of their 10-point loss to Dallas.

Todd, unimpressed by Nesby’s effort in the second quarter, disciplined him by benching him in the second half against the Mavericks. If there was any other action taken, it was handled internally by the team. Nesby practiced Wednesday and will be in the lineup for tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks at Staples Center.

“Everything is status quo,” Todd said after the workout in Carson. “We don’t have any problems. . . . Sometimes in the heat of battle, tempers flare, but everything is cool now.”

It looks as if the Clippers will again have to play without rookie Lamar Odom and power forward Maurice Taylor because of injuries. Odom’s strained left calf muscle probably will sideline him for the fourth time in six games. Taylor’s left ankle sprain will keep him out of his fifth consecutive game.
