From Staff Reports

A position change doesn’t appear to have affected John Santor’s bat.

The Times’ All-Valley third baseman, filling in at catcher for an injured teammate, slugged three home runs to lead Highland High over Quartz Hill, 10-0, in a Golden League baseball game Wednesday at Quartz Hill.

Santor, who was three for three with four runs batted in, is batting .469 with a region-best eight home runs and 26 RBIs.

Tommy Gonzales (4-1) struck out three and allowed five hits in the game, which was called after six innings because of the 10-run rule.
