Loyde W. Hinds Sr.; Clothing Store Owner

Loyde W. Hinds Sr., a former men’s retail clothing store owner, died April 24 at Camarillo Convalescent Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 91.

He was born June 18, 1908, in Sadorus, Ill., and was a resident of California for the last 53 years.

He owned Hinds Brothers, a men’s retail clothing store in North Hollywood, and later opened a second store in Westlake Village. In 1980, he retired and closed both stores.

Hinds had been a member of the North Hollywood Kiwanis Club for 50 years. He was also a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Westlake Village for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marie.

He is survived by their son, Loyde Hinds Jr. of Westlake Village, granddaughter Debbie Springer and two great grandsons.

A memorial service is scheduled at 3 p.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Westlake Village.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Loyde Hinds Sr. Memorial Fund, Westminster Presbyterian Church in Westlake Village.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Mortuary.
