Lancaster 29, Quartz Hill 7--Tony Ortiz rushed for 142 yards in 25 carries and scored three touchdowns to help the Eagles (5-5, 3-2) clinch a playoff berth at Lancaster.
Ortiz’s first touchdown, on a five-yard pass from Josh Pratt, gave Lancaster a 9-7 lead with 18 seconds left in the first half.
Although Ortiz lost three fumbles, he surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season on a 25-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter. He added a one-yard touchdown run later in the quarter.
Mychael Williams of Quartz Hill (2-8, 1-4) finished with 102 yards rushing in 27 carries. The Rebels took a 7-0 lead on a one-yard sneak by Josh Fricke in the first quarter.
Quartz Hill ended the season with a four-game losing streak in which it was outscored 154-13.
