The Alternative Giving Market, featuring gifts from the Third World Handarts business, will be held Sunday to benefit various groups that help needy families.

The market, sponsored annually by the United Methodist Church of Garden Grove, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the church, 12741 Main St.

Some of the organizations that will benefit from the fund-raiser include: Real Help, a coalition of Garden Grove churches; Heifer Project International, which provides food-producing animals to the needy; Lutheran Social Services, which helps homeless people throughout Orange County; Methodist Joint Commission on Mexico, which builds churches and provides scholarships for seminary students; and Wise Place, a transitional shelter for single women.

Gift certificates from the Church World Service/United Methodist Committee on Relief, which helps victims in disaster areas, will also be for sale.

Habitat for Humanity, Orange County, will also receive $10,000 from the church. The presentation will be held during the 9:30 a.m. service.
