Two people were killed Sunday afternoon in separate shootings in Panorama City and Van Nuys, police said.

Though the shootings occurred two hours apart within three miles of each other, police said they don’t believe the incidents are related.

At about 3:30 p.m., a woman in her 30s was found dead on a walkway in the 14600 block of Blythe Street in Panorama City, said Sgt. Ted Morse of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Division. She is believed to be the victim of a drive-by shooting. The woman’s identity is being withheld until her family can be notified, said Det. Al Aldaz.

Two hours later, a man about 40 years old was fatally shot in the 15700 block of Victory Boulevard near Haskell Avenue, according to the LAPD and the Los Angeles Fire Department. The man has not yet been identified, Aldaz said.

No suspects have been arrested in either shooting.
