LAKER-CLIPPER REPORT

Share

Michael Olowokandi versus O’Neal may still be a mismatch but the Clipper center has made strides since he first faced his Laker counterpart three seasons ago.

“I’m a lot stronger than I was when I was a rookie and I understand what they are going to do a lot better,” said Olowokandi, averaging 7.6 points and 6.4 rebounds after 14 games.

So can the Clippers expect a breakout game tonight? Olowokandi would not go that far following Sunday’s practice, but he did admit his confidence is higher than it has ever been heading into a Laker game.

“I have to be more physical with him,” Olowokandi says. “But it’s tough because he is so big, he just runs people over. I’m just going to stay between him and the basket.”
