Northridge Women Finally Start Cookin’ at Home, 84-59

Cal State Northridge won its second consecutive game and first at home this season Tuesday with an 84-59 nonconference women’s basketball victory over Cal State Fullerton at the Matadome.

Northridge (2-2) evened its record after defeating Nicholls State, 90-54, on Saturday.

Sha’Tasha Allen came off the bench to score 19 points for the Matadors. LaShaunda Fowler added 17 points and Myesha Saleem had 11. Saleem and center Kristi Rose each had eight rebounds.

“I don’t know what it is about being at home, but that’s what we needed,” Northridge Coach Frozena Jerro said.

“We were able to get into a flow. We got a lot of scoring out of the bench.”

Allen had 11 points in the first half, when Northridge took a 32-22 lead.

Heather Hansen had 18 points and Tamara Quinn had 11 for Fullerton (0-4).
