Fire Damages Art Supplies Company
A fire caused major damage to an art supply and picture frame company Friday night, authorities said.
The Los Angeles Fire Department received a call about 10:50 p.m. reporting a fire at Lawrence Unlimited, a one-story building at 8721 Darby Ave., spokesman Bob Collis said. Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about two hours.
There were no injuries. Damage and the cause of the blaze had not been determined Saturday, Collis said, but an investigation is continuing.
Neighbors said the owner of the company was having trouble with building break-ins and had recently installed a surveillance system. They also said a large amount of wood was stored in the building.
