GARDEN GROVE

* Harbor Boulevard: Garden Grove Police arrested 35 men who allegedly solicited undercover female officers posing as street prostitutes during a six-hour sting operation Friday.

Several undercover officers were involved in the sting, dubbed the John Decoy Program by police. The program was organized to address the problem of prostitution on Harbor Boulevard, authorities said.

The locations and times of the arrests were not available Sunday.

The suspects were booked at the Garden Grove Police Station on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution, Sgt. Pat Thrasher said.

All of the suspects’ cars were towed, Thrasher said.

If convicted, the men could face jail time and could have their driver’s licenses suspended for one month, he said.

* Rugh Street: A fire swept through a home and an attached garage in the 11900 block about 11 a.m. Sunday, authorities said.

No one was in the house at the time of the fire. Neighbors rescued several animals from the structure as it burned, authorities said.

Firefighters from the Garden Grove and Anaheim fire departments put out the fire, which caused about $20,000 in damage.

No injuries were reported.

* Ranchero Way: A 16-year-old Garden Grove boy was arrested Wednesday for allegedly stabbing a teenager in the neck and arm with a knife after the two got into an argument, police said.

The stabbing happened at 3 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 12000 block, said Garden Grove Police Lt. John Woods.

The 17-year-old Garden Grove victim was going to Santiago High School with a friend to confront the suspect about an earlier incident between the suspect and the victim’s friend, he said.

After they met, they went to a nearby apartment building, where the suspect and the victim got into a dispute followed by the stabbing, Woods said. The suspect fled and the victim drove himself to a doctor’s office. The victim was later taken to Fountain Valley Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Woods said.

The suspect was found at his home, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken to Orange County Juvenile Hall, Woods said.

NEWPORT BEACH

* Newport Beach Harbor: Two men out for a boating excursion Saturday afternoon used their cellular telephone to call 911 when their 14-foot powerboat capsized, authorities said.

When Matt Ortiz and Colin Smith couldn’t restart the engine of their rented skiff, the wave action at Little Corona forced their boat onto the rocks, said Sgt. Donna Soto of the Orange County Sheriff’s Harbor Patrol.

Within minutes, the boat sank. “They swam up to the beach, about 25 yards, but the boat was gone,” Soto said.

Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports:

Brea, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Fullerton, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, La Habra, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Orange, Placentia, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Tustin, Westminster and Yorba Linda.
