A man was shot to death Monday in the parking lot of the Anaheim company for which he worked, authorities said.

Investigators said they are seeking another man believed to be involved in the shooting at Precision Anodizing and Plating, a small company in the 1600 block of North Miller Street.

“We are trying to figure out what role [he] had in this,” said Sgt. Rick Martinez, a spokesman for the Anaheim Police Department. “It appears that the victim knew the suspect. We have detectives trying to get a clear picture.” So far, he said, the crime does not appear to be job-related, though both men worked for the company.

The identity of the victim, described as a 21-year-old Anaheim resident, was not released Monday night pending notification of relatives.

Martinez said the shooting occurred about 1:30 p.m. during a parking lot confrontation involving the two men. Later, he said, witnesses reported seeing a man leave the area in a dark vehicle, which police said they have found.

Investigators said they questioned six people who may have witnessed the altercation and got conflicting accounts.

“The bottom line, it appears, is that the victim and another man had some sort of confrontation in the parking lot. We don’t know what it was about,” Martinez said.
