Jose Vizcaino’s cell phone began ringing the moment his two-out, bases-loaded, 12th-inning single provided the winning run in the Yankees’ 4-3 victory in Game 1 at Yankee Stadium.

Family and friends called to revel in the moment with the Yankees’ latest World Series hero, who seized an opportunity in a rare start at second base.

The former Dodger had four singles in six at-bats, earning another start in Game 2.

“We played him [Saturday] because the matchup was good,” Yankee Manager Joe Torre said. “Tonight we’re playing him because he’s good.”

Vizcaino said many of his former teammates were as excited as he was, including Dodger third baseman Adrian Beltre.

“He’s just jealous because he wishes he could be here,” Vizcaino said, jokingly. “He called me and said he thought [the Dodgers] had a chance to be here too, but he’s happy for me.”
