Irvine Wins in Exhibition Basketball in Canada

Junior guard Jerry Green had 25 points and six assists to help UC Irvine defeat the Victoria All-Stars, 78-67, in an exhibition basketball game in Victoria, British Columbia Thursday.

Senior guard Sean Jackson added 14 points. Redshirt freshman center Adam Parada had 12 points and 20 rebounds for the Anteaters, who concluded their Canadian tour with a 4-0 record.

In nonconference college men’s soccer:

The Master’s 1, Concordia 0--Rusty Brooke, scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute off an assist from C.J. Larsen for visiting The Master’s (4-0).

The goal gave Brooke his fourth game-winner in four games.

Lucas Martinucci had seven saves for Concordia (2-2).

In nonconference community college men’s soccer:

Fullerton 2, Santa Barbara 2--Eric Alafa saved Fullerton from defeat scoring the tying goal in the 70th minute. Fullerton is 0-1-1.

In nonconference women’s soccer:

Canyons 2, Santa Ana 2--Tiffany Wilson’s goal late in the second half salvaged a tie for Santa Ana (1-0-1). Anna Medina scored first for Santa Ana.

Cypress 2, Foothill (San Jose) 1--Cypress’ second-half rally prevented a loss as former Valencia High standout Alie Nunez scored the winning goal in the 81st minute. Tiffany Dinoso scored the tying goal in the 67th minute for Cypress (1-0).
