Four Stabbed at Heavy-Metal Irvine Concert

Four people were stabbed Sunday night in two incidents at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine during a heavy-metal rock concert, fire officials said.

Officials responded to a call about 10 p.m. regarding two people who were stabbed. Those two were taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo. While at the theater, previously known as Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre, officials learned of two other people who suffered minor stab wounds to their hands; they were taken to South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach. Another person was treated for an asthma-related attack.

No arrests were reported. Further details were unavailable.

The acts playing were Iron Maiden, Queensryche and Rob Halford. The outdoor venue has reserved seating for 10,418 and lawn seating for 4,582. The venue’s name changed in April.
