Fire Damage at Building Estimated at About $100,000
NORTH HOLLYWOOD —
An early morning fire gutted a vacant commercial building Tuesday morning, causing an estimated $100,000 in damages, authorities said.
The blaze began about 5:51 a.m. in the 13200 block of Saticoy Street. The building, which has been vacant for two years, was once a popular square dance hall, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis.
About 55 firefighters were able to extinguish the flames within 20 minutes.
Collis said electricity was shut off in the building. He said the blaze is under investigation.
