A Warning From Warner

NFL defensive backs: Read no further.

St. Louis Ram quarterback Kurt Warner is frustrated. And determined to get better.

Warner has only thrown for 1,557 yards, the best four-game start in league history.

He leads the league in completion percentage (70.4) and average gain (11.53 yards). He is second in the NFL passer ratings (111.9) and has thrown 10 touchdown passes.

But he has also thrown seven interceptions.

“I just think back to last year and it seemed like there were times when we just came out of the blocks flying and we played well the whole game, and we haven’t done that this year,” Warner said. “Even though we’ve put up some better numbers and scored a lot of points, I just don’t think we’ve clicked to that particular extent yet.”

Coach Mike Martz isn’t surprised by that attitude.

“You just don’t ever see Kurt satisfied,” Martz said. “He’ll come off after he’s thrown a perfect touchdown and there’s something that happened out there that he’ll ask a question about.”

After struggling Atlanta Falcon running back Jamal Anderson blasted his offensive line earlier in the week and questioned whether some of his teammates had the desire to play, Coach Dan Reeves made changes on the offensive line, but won’t reveal them.

“You will see Sunday,” he said.

Reeves better hope Anderson doesn’t ever get mad at him.
