The Trojans (3-1) dominated from the beginning of the nonleague game at Irvine High. Scott Pickett led the way by rushing for 70 yards and scoring touchdowns on all three of his carries.

Quarterback Jay Nichols connected with Zach Sherwood for a 31-yard touchdown and finished with 68 yards, completing two of three passes. Sherwood had two catches for 68 yards, kicked four extra points and had touchbacks on all five of his kickoffs.

Nephi Wheeler ran for 78 yards in six carries, and scored on a four-yard touchdown run. Ryan Schulte capped the scoring for University by picking up a fumble after a muffed punt and running it 39 yards for a touchdown.

Ron Vanwinkle rushed for 123 yards in 23 carries for the Panthers (0-4).
