Exploring Science and Art of Digital World

Share

Technology takes center stage at two exhibits:

Through June 10, the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City shows “BitStreams,” with photos, video installations, paintings, sculptures and ‘sound pieces” from about 30 artists who employ digital technology. The Whitney, 945 Madison Ave., is open daily except Monday; hours vary. Adult admission $10. Tel. (212) 570-3676, https://www.whitney.org.

In Chicago, the Museum of Science and Industry has a new permanent exhibit, “Networld,” that sprawls over 5,000 square feet and includes 33 computers. Visitors can “digitize” themselves and, using a microchip-embedded card, navigate interactive stations.

The museum, at 57th Street and Lake Shore Drive, is open daily; hours vary. Adult admission $7. Tel. (773) 684-1414, https://www.msi chicago.org.
