Fred A. Cooper; Ventura County Realtor

Fred A. Cooper, a retired Realtor, died on Monday at his home in Ventura following a short illness. He was 93.

Cooper was born May 28, 1907, in Lompoc. He had been a Ventura County resident for 51 years, after moving from Lodi.

He owned and operated Cooper Realty in Ventura for 20 years before retiring in 1971.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ventura, the Poinsettia Masonic Lodge No. 633, the Al Malaikah Shrine of Los Angeles, the Ventura Valley Scottish Rite, and the Order of the Eastern Star Fillmore-Ventura, Chapter 79. He was also an avid fisherman and gardener.

He was preceded in death by his son, Teddy, in 1948.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Juanita, and daughter Candy Cooper Cox of Reston, Va.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura, which is handling the arrangements.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Gennero of the First Baptist Church officiating and members of the Poinsettia Lodge No. 633, F. & A.M., participating. Burial will take place at Lodi Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 3160 Geneva St., Los Angeles, CA 90020.
