El Modena 4, Villa Park 3--Curt Angier hit a two-run home run in the first inning for host El Modena (7-6, 4-2).

Dan Reid pitched a five-hitter and took the loss for Villa Park (7-6, 3-3).

Orange 7, Santa Ana Valley 6 (8)--Tucker Boyd was two for three with a sacrifice fly and drew a walk that scored the winning run in the eighth inning for visiting Orange (7-5, 2-4). Nick Smith of Orange hit his second home run of the season.

In the Olympic League:

Calvary Chapel 11, Brethren Christian 0 (5, mercy)--For the second time this season, Brian Stanley (4-1) threw a no-hitter in a game that lasted only five innings due to the mercy rule. Stanley was also three for three, with a double and a triple, and drove in five runs for Calvary Chapel (9-5, 3-3). Brethren Christian is 2-6, 0-3.

Cerritos Valley Christian 9, Orange Lutheran 9 (8, darkness)--Paul Koss had a two-out home run in the seventh inning for Orange Lutheran (6-5-1, 2-0-1) to force extra innings. Neither team scored in the eighth before it was called. Koss was three for four with three runs batted in and combined with Brent Concolino to hold Valley Christian (5-5-1, 2-0-1) scoreless in the final three innings.

In the Pacific Coast League:

No. 10 Corona del Mar 8, Laguna Beach 4--Andrew Johns was three for four with three RBIs, including a two-run home run, for Corona del Mar (9-3, 6-0). Derek Lewis also hit a two-run homer and Wes Hockinson had a solo home run.

Northwood 12, University 7--Tom Gray pitched five innings and had three RBIs. Northwood (2-8, 2-4) also got three hits from Andrew Morrison and two hits each from Dustin Landeis and Steve Lucas.
