T.J. Hockey Column Gets Chilly Reception

Share

Fine, T.J. Simers has made his point that he does not like hockey. That being the case, is there any chance that he can stop writing about it?

Continually ridiculing a sport he doesn’t enjoy watching and obviously doesn’t understand only makes him more annoying and serves to cheapen a great playoff run by the Kings. Hockey is rarely taken seriously by folks not familiar with the sport in Los Angeles because of reckless columnists like Simers, and he perpetuates the issue by sarcastically referring to the Kings as “Our beloved Kings” all the while poking fun at the players.

Next time, please just leave him at home so he can watch all his favorite shows and leave the hockey commentary to Helene Elliott.

T.J., the next time Stu Nahan or anyone else offers you Kings’ tickets, please pass them on to me or someone else who appreciates the most exciting divisional race of any sport L.A. has experienced in years. You are truly the Eminem of sports journalism. You like to stir things up in the name of questionable comedy. Like Eminem, your act is predictable, old and stale.

I always wonder how some players, who have so much talent, sit out over a contract dispute when I’d give just about anything to be that talented to play this sport and get paid. Well, now I have something else to ponder: Why would a “sportswriter” write an article about a sport he knows nothing about?

Just for your info, T.J., it’s the Phoenix Coyotes, San Jose Sharks, Edmonton Oilers, and the Vancouver Canucks. All of that is in the media guide too. You had a chance to see one of the best games of the season and instead of enjoying it, you were looking for what everyone’s favorite TV show was.
