Storm Expected to Bring Rain, Snow
A late-season cold storm was expected to whip through Southern California today, bringing the likelihood of wind, rain and snow that should clear out by noon.
The overnight forecast called for up to half an inch of rain in some coastal areas, and four to seven inches of snow in local mountains, National Weather Service meteorologist John Gorman said. Winds were predicted to gust up to 25 mph.
“It’s a little late for a storm this cold,” Gorman said. The snow level is expected to start at 5,000 feet and fall to 3,000 feet by morning, he said.
“But it’s a quick little system; things should bounce back to normal by Monday,” he said. Temperatures will warm up Monday through Wednesday to highs in the low 70s in coastal areas and the lower 80s in the valleys.
