Baby Dolittle: Neighborhood Animals. Family Home Entertainment. 30 minutes. $15 (DVD: $20). Ages 1 to 4. (800) 793-1454; https://www.babyeinstein.com.
With music-box-style versions of works by Vivaldi, Rimsky-Korsakov, Scarlatti, Beethoven and other classical composers, this appealing new “video board book” from the popular Baby Einstein Co. is a colorful musical treat filled with dogs, cats, horses, bunnies, mice, bugs and other critters with cozy kid appeal.
Little Bill: Me and My Family. Paramount Home Entertainment. 50 minutes. $13.
Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr. animated series “Little Bill” may have a lower profile than “Blue’s Clues” or “Arthur,” but it deserves a spot among the best of preschooler programming.
It’s nonstop positive reinforcement, warmth and reassurance for youngsters as they adjust to their ever-expanding world. It looks great, too, with a smooth collage-and-cutout storybook style, and its sophisticated jazz accompaniment is a perfect reflection of creator Bill Cosby’s style.
In this delightful release, Great-grandmother helps Little Bill manage his nighttime fears.
