It Had Everything but the Windmill
Kudos to Thomas Bonk for his Tuesday article on the now infamous “Battle of Bighorn” golf match. Bonk writes, “If the setup sounds complicated, the golf wasn’t. It just wasn’t very good.” Matter of fact, consider yourself a real golf fan if you stayed awake to watch all 19 holes! If one purpose was to introduce girls to women’s golf, then watch the renewed interest in girls’ soccer. I’ve seen better golf in our Pasadena Senior group with wives invited for some mixed foursomes.

Holding a golf event in the desert in July, the hottest month of the year, is absolutely insane. Did you see all of those players sweat? They should have called it the “Barbecue at Bighorn.”

After watching the pace of play at the “Battle of Bighorn,” I’m glad they’re not playing ahead of me.
