3 Seriously Hurt in Crash on California 126
Three people were seriously injured Tuesday morning on California 126 when a car crossed over the center divider and slammed into two trucks, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Rosaura Bracamontes, 35, of Ventura, lost control of her Chrysler PT Cruiser about 10:30 a.m. at Victoria Avenue and collided with a Chevrolet truck and a mid-size International truck with a trailer.
Firefighters used tools to pry Bracamontes from the wreckage, said CHP Officer Lydia Martinez Prows.
She suffered several broken bones and cuts and was being treated at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura.
No one in the International truck was hurt, but the Chevy driver, 41-year-old Peter Livingston of Ventura, and his 35-year-old wife, Helen, suffered broken bones and cuts.
Both were being treated at Ventura County Medical Center.
The crash forced the closure of both eastbound lanes for nearly an hour, causing a major traffic backup.
