FBI Seeking Denim-Clad Robber
The Federal Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted in at least two bank robberies in Orange County.
On July 12, the denim-clad suspect robbed two Washington Mutual branches within about 40 minutes. The first one occurred at 3:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of Bristol Avenue in Santa Ana, and the second at 4:10 p.m. in the 12100 block of Garden Grove Boulevard in Garden Grove, said Mark C. Hunter, spokesman for the FBI bureau in Orange County.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
In the first robbery, the suspect said he had a gun but did not show one, Hunter said.
In the second robbery, he threatened the teller, Hunter said.
The suspect walked out of both banks. No getaway car was seen by witnesses to either robbery.
The suspect is described as white, 28 to 35 years old, 5-feet-8 to 5-10, 175 to 190 pounds, with brown hair and a heavy build. He was wearing a navy blue baseball cap, a denim shirt, blue denim pants and brown sunglasses.
