Gunman Holds Up Check-Cashing Store
A masked gunman held up a check-cashing store Friday, locking two employees in a back room before fleeing, authorities said.
The man was wearing dark pants and a blue jacket when he entered the store just after 7 a.m., said Lt. Andy McCluskey of the Simi Valley Police Department.
After ordering one of the employees to give him an undisclosed amount of cash, the gunman forced them into the back room, McCluskey said. One of the employees used a cell phone to call a store manager, who was not on the premises, who in turn alerted police, McCluskey said.
